Alhamdulillah, MCQ Mosque is honored to serve the broader community with dedication and care. We warmly encourage all our Muslim brothers and sisters to take advantage of the various facilities and services that are available for your spiritual and communal benefit.
1. The Five Daily Prayers
Allah has commanded the believers to establish the prescribed prayers regularly and at their appointed times, as part of the pillars of His religion and a clear sign of faith. He says in the Quran: “Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon thebelievers a decree of specified times” (Surah An-Nisa 4:103). He also says: “And establish prayer and give zakah and bowwith those who bow [in worship and obedience]” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:43). Through these five daily prayers, the servantmaintains a constant bond with his or her Lord, fulfilling a fundamental obligation and drawing nearer to His mercy.
2. Friday Khutbah and Prayer (Jumu‘ah)
The weekly Jumu‘ah Khutbah and Prayer is one of the main gatherings organized at MCQ Mosque. As this event draws alarge number of attendees, it serves as a cornerstone of our weekly services. Each session includes a 30-minute khutbah (sermon) followed by a prayer lasting approximately 10–15 minutes.
3. Eid Prayer
Eid is a joyous occasion celebrated annually by Muslims worldwide, symbolizing renewal and gratitude. The term Eid itself means “recurring happiness.” Eid al-Fitr marks the end of the blessed month of Ramadan, a time of fasting and spiritual reflection. Eid al-Adha coincides with the Hajj season, commemorating the devotion and sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him).
4. Taraweeh and Tahajjud Prayers
During Ramadan, the mosque offers Taraweeh prayers, performed after the ‘Isha prayer in sets of two rak‘ahs. Worshippers are encouraged to pray from beginning to end with the Imam, as the Prophet ( ) said: “Whoever prays Qiyaam (night prayer) with the Imam until he finishes, it will be recorded for him as if he spent the entire night in prayer.” (Tirmidhi 806, Abu Dawood 1375, Irwa al-Ghaleel 2/193)
5. Tahiyyatul Masjid – Greeting the Mosque
Upon entering the mosque, it is recommended to perform two rak‘ahs before sitting down. The Prophet ( ) said: “When one of you enters the mosque, let him not sit down until he has prayed two rak‘ahs.” (Bukhari 1167, Muslim 714)
